Veteran Community Engagement
Team Rubicon is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that utilizes the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams. Founded in 2010, Team Rubicon has deployed across the United States and around the world to provide immediate relief to those impacted by disasters and humanitarian crises.
Team Red, White & Blue is a registered 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to enrich the lives of America’s Veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity. Utilizing a nationwide network of chapters, Team RWB hosts and participates in events designed to bring veterans together and engage in the communities where they live and work.
Recognizing the therapeutic value of long distance outdoor expeditions, Warrior Expeditions created the Warrior Hike, Warrior Bike and Warrior Paddle Programs to help veterans transition from their wartime experiences. Warrior Expeditions provides veterans with everything required to complete a long distance outdoor expedition at no cost to the veteran. Earl Schaffer said he was going to “walk off the war” after returning from World War II, and four months later became the first person to hike the entire Appalachian Trail. After returning home from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Sean Gobin thru hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2012 and then founded Warrior Expeditions.
Dryhootch is a nonprofit 501c3 organization formed by combat Veterans to help Veterans in their return home. Dryhootch is a place where Veterans can gather informally in a coffee house; a safe, comfortable, drug-and-alcohol-free environment. The Dryhootch Quick Reaction Force (QRF) is a smartphone-based Veteran Peer Mentor System.

With the majority of dogs coming from high-kill rescue shelters, this innovative program allows the K9/Warrior team to build an unwavering bond that facilitates their collective healing and recovery.
DAV is a nonprofit charity that provides a lifetime of support for veterans of all generations and their families, helping more than 1 million veterans in positive, life-changing ways each year. DAV is also a leader in connecting veterans with meaningful employment, hosting job fairs and providing resources to ensure they have the opportunity to participate in the American Dream their sacrifices have made possible. With over 1,200 chapters and more than 1 million members across the country, DAV empowers our nation’s heroes and their families by helping to provide the resources they need and ensuring our nation keeps the promises made to them.
Vehicles for Veterans is a 501(c)(3) vehicle donation program benefiting disabled veterans. Our car donation program offers a simple alternative to selling or trading in your unwanted vehicle. In return for your donation, you receive the maximum possible tax deduction. Best of all, your donation helps organizations to provide assistance to disabled veterans and their families. Knowing that your car donation helps to provide transition services, help for homeless veterans, advocacy, employment assistance and more is something you can be proud of.

The mission of the Veterans Justice Programs is to identify justice-involved Veterans and contact them through outreach, in order to facilitate access to VA services at the earliest possible point. Veterans Justice Programs accomplish this by building and maintaining partnerships between VA and key elements of the criminal justice system.
Stateside Legal has been designed especially to help low-income service members, veterans and their families. For that reason, we focus on legal services that are available free of charge. Stateside Legal has indexed the three largest networks of free legal aid serving servicemembers, veterans and their families. Although there are not enough free legal services to help everyone, you may be able to find a free lawyer or advocate here.
